Welcome to Little Bloomers Daycare!
I’m Avalon McCoy, a passionate and dedicated Anishinaabe home daycare provider, with over 10 years of experience. Growing up in a house hold of 9 people and in my home town, Blind River. Caring for children has always been something that came natural for me. I always believed that every child deserves a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters their growth and development. As a private home daycare provider and a mom for over 10 years, I have a strong background and knowledge in child development and a genuine love for working with children.
I am trained in CPR and First Aid and keep it up to date. I also volunteer for an organization called Seasons Centre for Grieving Children, where I am a grief facilitator to young children, who have experienced the loss of a loved one in their lives. Being a part and giving back to our youth within my community is a strong passion of mine and is something I take very seriously because I understand the impact I have on my littles who become part of our Daycare family.
I believe in a holistic approach to childcare that emphasizes creativity, exploration, and learning through play. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging space where your child feels comfortable to express themselves, make new friends, and learn at their own pace. When you think of home daycare, it is exactly that. Your child will feel at home when they are in my care and will receive the utmost love and respect while in my care.
Taking care of myself physically, emotional and mentally is and always will be top priority in my life because your child deserves to have a care giver who will be present, focus and someone who will be able to give them the attention they need to thrive, until they are no longer in my care. They also deserve a caregiver who is active with them and doesn't mind getting down to their level to play and interact with them. In my home, I love to cook and bake nutritious and tasty foods for your child because that is the kind of life I lead for myself and my daughter.
At Little Bloomers Daycare, children participate in a variety of activities designed to promote cognitive, social, and emotional development. Our daily schedule includes:
- Creative arts and crafts
- Storytime and literacy activities
- Outdoor play and nature exploration
- Music and movement sessions
- Structured learning games and activities
- Nutritious snacks and meals
Safety is my top priority. My home is equipped with child-proofing measures, and I maintain a clean and organized space for play and learning. I am always taking extra precautions when we are inside or outside but at the same time, I give your child space to explore and step outside their comfort zone whether that be through play, trying something new or helping them through a challenge.
I would love to meet you and your little ones! If you’re interested in learning more about my daycare or scheduling a visit, please feel free to contact me. Let’s work together to provide the best start for your child’s journey !
Thank you for considering Little Bloomers Daycare as your child’s home away from home!
